Norwegian Kelp: A natural seaweed grown deep in the ocean, mostly in cold waters, Norwegian Kelp is rich in valuable nutrients from the ocean floor and trace minerals including iodine, which is used for proper glandular function and metabolism. Micropulverized Bee Pollen: One of the "superfoods", bee pollen contains an incredible array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes. *Although rare, please note that some dogs may be allergic to bee pollen. If you wish to use this supplement and are concerned about a bee pollen allergy, you should consult your veterinarian. Under the care of a veterinarian, you may need to test your dog, using bee pollen alone, starting with one grain and gradually increasing the dosage, before using any product containing bee pollen.
Imported Nutritional Yeast Culture: Helps maintain a full and healthy coat. Provides proteins, zinc, and biotin. Excellent souce of B vitamins. Nutritional Yeast Culture is grown on sugar beets, a vegetarian source, so no grains are present. It is worth noting that the vast majority of pet food, treats, and supplements manufacturers use Brewer's Yeast, which is a completely different substance from Nutritional Yeast Culture. Brewer's Yeast is a combination of whatever by-products come from the brewery the manufacturer uses as its source and can contain a combination of by-products of hops, corn, grains, wheat, etc., many of which are widely known to be detrimental to the general health of dogs as well as detrimental to those dogs who have grain allergies.
Flaxseed and Ground Borage Seed++: Provides essential fatty acids. Most absorbable vegetable fatty acid for the canine. Rich in Omega3 fatty acids++, alpha-linolenic acid, fiber, and lignans. Helps maintain healthy shiny fur and soft skin. ++If your dog is scheduled for a surgical-type procedure, you should discuss, with your veterinarian, possibly suspending this supplement for the days prior to the procedure. Omega3 fatty acids may reduce blood coagulation and therefore may increase bleeding.
Lecithin: A rich source of choline, which the body requires to make acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter which is essential for normal, healthy nerve and brain function. Supports healthy liver function, too.
Garlic Concentrate: Contains allicin, widely believed to be a broad-spectrum antimicrobial.
Lactobacillus acidophilus: Promotes healthy digestion in a bioavailable form. Promotes friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract.
Calcium Citrate: Calcium is best absorbed in an acidic evironment. Calcium citrate is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium as it does not require extra stomach acid for absorption. Intended to provide nutritive support for healthy bones, teeth, and nerve function.
